My People

I’ve mentioned this in comments before, but I don’t have kids. The majority of us gods do not have kids, especially with mortals. While we don’t really like worshipers, some of us do have them, though a lot of us don’t (I do have them, but quite a bit of them worship my brother Satan in my name, which pisses me off to no end. Not just because I have worshipers, but because they don’t see the difference between me and him). But we all have people we call our own. We sometimes watch over them, we see a bit of ourselves in them, or we subtly give them hints on a path we would like them to take, not being able to directly do it. We do not create these people, but there is a special place in our hearts for them. Dad likes artists of all kind, not just painters and sculptors but writers and musicians and well; Satan likes warriors at heart, not necessarily soldiers.

Me? Obviously, scholars. But scholars are knowledgeable about academic topics. Specialists of math, science, history, etc. But there are specialists of other things, such as Star WarsStar Trek, comics, video games and the like. So my people are nerds and geeks. But it doesn’t stop there. I also take in under the category of my people crazy people. Specifically those that have lost touch with reality. This doesn’t necessarily mean clinically or legally insane people. They just don’t know what’s real and what’s not, and many times, they act on what is not. So what use do I have for crazy people? Chaos. Not Loki in The Avengers-type chaos. The more subtle kind. The kind that pushes the world to change. With those who are clinically insane, others try to find a cure, thereby advancing medicine. When a crazy person blurts out a dumb or sometimes dangerous idea, others relate that idea as being crazy and avoid thinking it themselves. Other crazy people say or do something outrageous but very public that force non-crazy people to think critically about the correct or more  intelligent ideas. There are other uses for crazy people, though mostly I just feel bad about them not having knowledge. Once again, I don’t create crazy people, I just like and/or pity them.

I will probably go a little more into my kind of chaos next week.

See you then.
